High Highs

I don't know whether this is a movement or a coincidence, but there seem to be a variety of bands emerging out of the States at the moment with a post-Grizzly Bear feel to them. Plenty of emphasis on the raw sound of the acoustic guitar, yet with a psychedelic edge and dreamy consistency, while maintaining a really high vocal quality. We Are Trees were one such band that started making waves towards the end of last year, and more recently New York's equally-promising High Highs have been making a name for themselves. Two duo show a remarkable music maturity considering their ages, as well as a formidable appreciation of effective vocal harmonies. One more reason I'm bummed out that I could make if I needed any more.

High Highs - Flowers Bloom
High Highs - Horses
High Highs - Open Season
